Macao's Health Bureau confirms 14th dengue fever case

MACAO, Nov.

13 (Xinhua) -- Macao's Health Bureau (HB) has recorded 14 dengue fever cases so far this year, according to an official statement issued Tuesday.

The statement from the HB said in the latest case, a 41-year- old resident was confirmed of dengue-fever infection on Nov.

6 at a local hospital.

The health authorities then sent medical team to his residence in the region's Taipa area to eradicate mosquitoes, said the statement.

Macao, a city with a population of 528,000, was hit by a major dengue fever out-break in 2001, when 1,418 people were infected.
